Debbie has been a life long member of the Church of the Messiah having been baptized, confirmed and married here and considers this church home and extended family. She has held various jobs/positions while being a member, such as choir member, Sunday school teacher, Vestry person, breakfast co-ordinator, acolyte co-ordinator, member of the building & grounds committee and is currently on the Altar Guild.
Debbie has lived most of her life in the Baltimore area and grew up not far from whereshe currently resides. Her background is in education and social work, holding a B.S. from James Madison University in education and an M.S. in education from Johns Hopkins University. She taught high school for 10 years at various public and parochial schools in the Baltimore area and then changed her focus to work for the State of Maryland as a caseworker in foster care in Baltimore City, for 28 years. Debbie is now retired.
